Terms & Conditions*
- I am adopting the pet described below through Purrfect Endings Feline Rescue Inc. (hereinafter PEFR). The pet is being adopted as a companion and will live as a family member with me inside my home. I will not allow the pet to be used for purposes of vivisection or experimentation.
- I agree that no member of my household has been convicted of cruelty to animals at anytime and have no court orders stating that any household member may not adopt or care for any animal.
- I will provide proper and sufficient, food, water, shelter and kind treatment for the pet at all times. The cat will not be allowed outdoors with the exception of a fully enclosed and secure outside space and will have access to a climate controlled area at all times.
- I agree that under no circumstances will the animal be declawed or otherwise altered in anyway unnecessary to their health or quality of life.
- I understand that the cat I am adopting may need time to adjust to its new home and other animals in the home. PEFR will provide all information known regarding the cat's personality and prior interaction with other animals. Any cat deemed unsuitable by the adopter may be returned to PEFR within the first two weeks for a refund of the adoption fee.
- I agree to immediately notify PEFR if the cat is lost. I further agree that the cat shall not be sold, given to, or adopted to anyone else. Should I be unable to care for the cat for any reason it shall be returned to PEFR at my expense.
- I understand that in most cases the animal has been a stray and extensive health history is unknown. PEFR does not knowingly misrepresent any cat suspected of being in ill health or temperamentally unsuitable for adoption. I understand the PEFR tests for FELV and FIV and that no cat testing positive is offered for adoption without notification of condition. I further understand that no guarantee either explicit or implicit is given as to the health of the cat. The cat is adopted "as is" and I assume all responsibility and costs for the treatment of any and all existing conditions and any other conditions which may develop. I accept this pet with all its faults, known or unknown and agree to provide proper veterinary care going forward to include annual vet wellness checks and vaccines as needed.
- I agree that PEFR may contact me at any reasonable time to check on the adopted cat. This includes but is not limited to phone calls, texts or emails.
- I agree this contract does not expire for the lifetime of the animal. I agree that if the contract is broken or the animal is in an unsafe environment under the opinion of PEFR that the animal will be confiscated from me by PEFR. Should it be necessary for PEFR to take action to recover the adopted pet I will be responsible for all court costs and all attorney fees incurred by PEFR.
